Caledon Punjabi Sikh Wedding

Caledon, just north of brampton is breathtakingly beautiful. With it’s rolling hills, flourishing forests, eye popping mansions, many will attest that caledon is a gem of a place. In fact, the bylaws are so strict with placing limits on developers so that the landscape can stay natural as possible. Maneet and Mandeep are not only both from Caledon, they live across from each other! Okay not exactly a short walk across the street, Maneet lives on a huge estate that requires at least a 3 minute walk from his house to the road. This was the set up for their wedding. When I first met them together, they both didn’t want a bollywood production, but something simple that matched their personalities. That’s nice for them but for me I wanted to create something different. I asked if there was something that was important to Maneet, something that recently happened to him. He said his grandfather passed away recently which gave me the idea to incorporate his grandfather into the same day edit. We took his audio, which he recorded about 4 times and incorporated it into the what you’re about to see. The wedding turned about to be a blast. The coolest part was when all we had to do was walk from Mandeep’s house after the doli to Maneet’s Caledon estate across the street. A first time for us! They loved the highlights, as Mandeep texted me saying she was in tears watching it at the reception. One other honorable mention is that Sharry Maan was hired to perform at the reception, and boy was I excited about that! He was super entertaining and all around nice guy. Sikh Punjabi Wedding Extravaganza Brampton Ontario

This wedding was indeed a wedding extravaganza as it was a week long celebration of 2 families coming together. Harsevak and Paramjit came to in need of photography and video coverage. They were referrals from another client we had a blast covering 2 years prior. I find it comfortable for all involved when clients come to see me when they have been referred by another person, especially when they used our services. We got along from the very beginning, and they were particular for what they were looking for which makes my job a lot easier. By the time the wedding dates came around, we were quite comfortable with each other as we’ve already done 3 eshoots as they wanted a four season themed collage. It was quite fun starting from the fall, thru winter and on to spring. This truly was a week long of festivities as we started on Tuesday with the chunni and shagan wedding extravaganza following with the maayein and jago events and then on to the wedding and reception which was split over 2 days. One interesting note was that it rained hard at the park shoot but Harsevak and Paramjit were troopers and we ended up with amazing pics. I remember how silly it was for us to be standing under a tree during the storm but we had no other shelter, good thing we didn’t get hit with lightning! The doli moment was truly an emotional time for Paramjit as she is very close with her family. One superb moment we got was when Harsewak held Paramjit in the Rolls Royce limo as she cried and they were driven off. At the reception, they look magnificent. They truly look great together. It was nice to see Harsevak try to play the keyboard as his surprise gift to Paramjit. I think nerves got the best of him! Truly enjoyed covering this Punjabi wedding. I felt like family. Congratulations to them both!

Namdhari Wedding Mashup Highlights Brampton

Our First Namdhari Wedding and we loved it. The spiritual and simplistic nature of the ceremony made it that much more special. I met Romie’s Mom at a destination wedding and she inquired about our availability. I eventually met with her son Romie and fiancee Nimisha and they were a very friendly and animated couple and it was to be an inter-religious union. Romie mentioned that he wanted to do a Namdhari wedding which by the way starts at 6 am and Nimisha the gujrati hindu wedding! Their wedding was set in the bitter cold month of december. Let me tell you how it sucks to be shoveling your driveway at 5 am in order to get to the Namdhari Wedding in Brampton but it was well worth it. The fact that they dressed in white made me feel the realness of the ceremony. It wasn’t about the show or the clothes, it was about 2 souls coming together. Congratulations to Romie and Nimisha on their union together. It was a lot of fun for the crew to be a part of your celebrations!

Sikh Punjabi Wedding at Dixie Gurudwara of Harneet with Deepy

Deepy and Harneet came to me last year with a proposition. They were very interested in us and also did some preliminary work for Deepy’s brother and sister-n-law who were going be married a week before that. (their video highlights are here vimeo.com/166670382) How cool is that? I hit it off with the both of them and really enjoyed conversations with Harneet, he’s a car enthusiast as you can see from the white Ford Mustang convertible that was used at the wedding. The wedding day ended up being rained on but we did what we could and that is what we do best. You see, weddings are a one time shot. We don’t have the opportunity to do a retake so we work with whatever that day gives us to create you an awesome product. The wedding was at Ontario Khalsa Darbar otherwise commonly called Dixie Gurudwara in Hall 5. Hall 5 has got good lighting but OMG, taking all that equipment up those stairs just makes it tough! The wedding was gorgeous and went smooth as butter but the park shoot proved to be a challenge. I wanted to do more work with the drone but due to the extremely high winds, I couldn’t do all that I wanted. Nevertheless, we had good stuff to work with in the end and produced them this. I love the song choice Fast Cars by Tracy Chapman. Good songs make such a difference. Thank you Deepy and Harneet and best wishes to you.

Holude and Wedding of Mohona & Adrian

This is the wedding and Holude highlights of Adrian and Mohona. Two airline pilots that put together an aviation themed wedding ie, an amazing cake custom designed for your airline pilots, the front lobby signing table that oozed aviation all over it. Their Holude ceremony was held the night before which entailed traditional bengali ceremonies in a bollywood style setting. If you watched the video, you could notice that Adrian had enough of being fed this porridge like sweet but played along by smiling throughout the entire process. I do have to give 2 thumbs up to the person that coordinated the outfits as the bridemaids and groomsmen looked fantastic. Just a note, the holude ceremony entails putting mehendi on the leaves of the groom and bride and being fed sweets by all attending. Back in the day, the mehendi was rubbed on the bodies of the couple as a process of beautification but today it’s a much more simpler process. Both Mohona and Adrian are a very animated couple and had the pleasure to work with and capture 2 days of fun! All happened at the Grand Victorian Convention Centre.
