I write this as I’m recovering from their reception last night of the Sikh Wedding Milton of Ravi and Nikki. I’ve really been lucky these past several months. And the reason? I’ve been blessed to work with some great couples and families! Ravi and Nikki have a great foundation. They both know how to separate what’s important from all the fluff. They came to me because they really liked the simplicity of our videos plus the fact that our videos included family moments which felt real for them. I like that! We started filming two days prior to the wedding at their respective maayeins. I got to tell you how wonderful it feels to be welcomed and asked to eat and have refreshments. I do have to give a shout out to both dads here. They both were so warm and inviting and we got to have some great conversation. Here’s advice to all those reading and are yet to book your vendors…treat your vendors with the same kindness you would want to be treated and they will work even more harder for you. It’s just that simple. Now on to the wedding day, these guys looked fabulous. Really I mean it. We were really excited to get to work that morning because we got to use the drone for the first time. For all of you that don’t know what a drone is, it was that hovering aircraft that was buzzing above you and sounded like a lawn trimmer, lol. The depth and aerial perspective just adds another level to our videos. If you want one for you wedding we can add it to your wedding too. It was a gorgeous day indeed with perfect weather and slight breeze. Everything was on time and we are talking no indian standard time here! The ceremony was magical, and there was that funny moment when Ravi and Nikki got up to early before the priest finished his part, that gave me a chuckle, no offense guys! Hall number 3 and 4 of Dixie is perfect in size and lighting as it provides a skylight as you can see the quality of imagery on the video. Once the ceremony was completed, we changed location of the park shoot to in front of Nikki’s house of this Sikh Wedding Milton. The field is currently empty and perfect to do some drone video. Hey guys, until the house get built, you can always and conveniently run in the fields together, lol, just kidding. The doli was touching and the having the brothers hold the “chadar” above their heads while they left the house provided some awesome footage. I do want to mention the pani vaar here as we never covered it in that way before. You can see some of the drone footage in the video of the limo coming down the street to Ravi’s house. Doesn’t it look surreal? Before finishing here, Ravi…the song dedication from Premi’s “giddha pa nikki” was just too good. It brought last nights reception to another level. Great Party! It didn’t even feel like work.

Fantastic couple, awesome venues at Chateaux Des Charmes in Niagra on the Lake and Westriver Banquet Centre. Magical Sikh Punjabi Wedding and Hindu Guyanese Wedding, and you gotta love the tassa band and the carribean flavours. All went well after a bit of a scare that the wedding day might have been rained out. Magically the rain stopped just before the

mystical Sikh Punjabi Wedding. There’s something beautiful about having a wedding outdoors and this was at the gazebo at West River Banquet Facility in Vaughn. I’ve done a number of Punjabi Wedding in that area and I everyone had something different to offer. Congratulations guys!

Kamal & Cindy Punjabi Wedding Scarborough Gurudwara & Terrace Banquet Vaughn

Why this video is special is because it was a gift from Cindy’s close friend, and MC, Rabina and the bridesmaids Manjot, Jessy, Manpreet, and Sheetal. I was filming Cindy’s mehendi and vatna ceremony when Rabina brought up same day edits. Once she found out that the couple did not purchase a highlight video, an idea came to her that she and the other bridesmaids could give that as her gift.

This was a first time for me and I just had to up my game another 50% (not that we don’t normally do a great job lol). I don’t have to tell you about whether they like it or not as I could see the crowd’s reaction while I filmed them watching. I also wanted to thank the MC’s for giving a real nice shout out to us for creating a mind blasting (I just had to add that in!) video.

Art of Video is truly a team effort. Long gone are those dayz where 1 videographer could do this on his own. Thanks to Tej, Roger, Harb, in being involved with the production and capturing of this event. You guyz did great!

Sikh Punjabi Wedding of Beeban & Sukhvir @ Dixie Gurudwara and Versailles Convention Centre

We really enjoyed filming Beeban and Sukhvir at the wedding festivities this past May 2014. They were a really laid back couple that kind of threw us off as we’re used to the demanding customers we normally deal with (lol no offense to anybody reading this). It started off with the ring ceremony at Grand Taj on Wednesday, a mehendi in the beautifully decorated tent at Beeban’s home, to the choora and vatna ceremonies on Friday and finally the wedding and reception on the weekend….a total of 5 dayz straight! We always love to see the reaction of the bride and groom at the reception when they watch their highlights.

I bet they get nervous about how they would look and if they did something silly. The end result was another successful highlight video with Sukhvir wanting to stop the dancing to give us another thank you for a fantastic job.

Thank you Beeban and Sukhvir for allowing us in your lives and congratulations and choosing Art of Video!

Sikh Punjabi Wedding Video Dunwin Gurudwara Mississauga & Le Jardin Vaughn Ontario

Art of Video presents the wedding of Amardip and Taranjit held on April 19-20, 2014 at Dunwin Gurudwara Mississauga and Le Jardin Vaughn Ontario. I met Amardip and Taranjit through a referral I received from a photographer in the industry, they were friends from high school. When we met, we hit it off and our personalities seems to click, which is indeed important when we would be spending so much time together during this important time in their lives.

They both wanted something different for their highlights to be shown at the reception, which I proceeded with some of my ideas. Our brainstorming session was intense and fun and resulted in some very cool ideas. Winter set in and we kinda got busy in our lives and lost touch for a while until earlier this year when Taranjit contacted me with an idea she got inspiration from Esha Deol’s Wedding highlights.

Since they both are so family oriented, they want to involve their families in the video and make it something real. I loved this since we too are trying to move away from that whole bollywood stuff that was so trendy 5-10 years ago. The resulting video was a success with Taranjit praising us during her speech at the reception (see our facebook page for the video) which for me meant the world. Congratulations to you both and wish you a happy married life!

Tim & Adella’s Punjabi Wedding Video West River & Paramount Convention Venues Vaughn Ontario

It just didn’t feel like work. After almost 5 years since filming Tim’s sister, Puja’s, wedding, Surinder Aunty contacted me early in the year inquiring if I was still available for her son’s wedding. What’s unique about this is that Adella is Cuban, and that Tim had met her in Cuba and also had their wedding there too.

They also wanted to do the Sikh Wedding here, and remembering the magnitude of Puja’s wedding, I knew this one was going to be incredible. Coincidentally, the venues were identical for both siblings and it was deja vu for me. I had an awesome time working with the family again. They were so hospitable by treating me like the family and also making sure I ate throughout the day. You don’t know what it means for us vendors to be asked to eat as it makes our day.

At some weddings, we work so hard throughout the day and we are not even asked if we had some water! Okay so back to the wedding…it started with the sangeet night midway in the week and the wedding just happen to be on friday which turned out to be the hottest day of the year. Imagine working outside and in a humid tent trying to capture the moments. I was sweating buckets. The wedding went without a hiccup and the weather held up, no rain! What impressed me most was the cubans. Adella’s family had never been to Canada let alone a sikh punjabi wedding video.

I was trying to imagine what they were thinking in their head when they watched us to our tribal dance, aka bhangra, and having Tim on the horse with 4 guys dressed in costume banging on a drum and holding sticks??? lol. Well what they did was get involved and that was just awesome. Well the party is over but lifelong celebration has just begun.

I wish you Tim and Adella the best in the world along with Puja,Sasha, Surinder Aunty + Uncle and the entire family.
