This is the wedding and Holude highlights of Adrian and Mohona. Two airline pilots that put together an aviation themed wedding ie, an amazing cake custom designed for your airline pilots, the front lobby signing table that oozed aviation all over it. Their Holude ceremony was held the night before which entailed traditional bengali ceremonies in a bollywood style setting. If you watched the video, you could notice that Adrian had enough of being fed this porridge like sweet but played along by smiling throughout the entire process. I do have to give 2 thumbs up to the person that coordinated the outfits as the bridemaids and groomsmen looked fantastic. Just a note, the holude ceremony entails putting mehendi on the leaves of the groom and bride and being fed sweets by all attending. Back in the day, the mehendi was rubbed on the bodies of the couple as a process of beautification but today it’s a much more simpler process. Both Mohona and Adrian are a very animated couple and had the pleasure to work with and capture 2 days of fun! All happened at the Grand Victorian Convention Centre.

Pakistani Wedding Photography in Rochester, New York, USA

Last Summer we had the privilege of capturing the Pakistani Wedding Photography of Omar and Sadia in Rochester, New York. This was our second time we have been in Rochester for wedding photo and video related work and I must say that there are a lot of desis in Rochester! The drive there is always wonderful as I truly enjoy the scenic drives down in the states and it’s about 3 hours from Toronto if you’re gunning it. We stayed at the Rochester Plaza Hotel, which upon first observation has a historical look to it. I wonder what famous people over the years has been in this hotel? We arrived around 1 pm so we could scout the area to lock down an area we could do their photoshoot and to our delight we also found a Tim Horton’s just around the corner. Thank you Timmies!

The event itself had about 500 people and it was a full house in the hotel’s conference room. One thing that did catch my eye was of the 2 displays that were setup that has signficance and something I hadn’t seen before. One was a table setup in dedication to Omar and his dad and the second was the lehnga that Omar’s mom wore at her wedding, how unique! Despite the slight delay in the getting part of the day, the event turned out to be a great party. Omar’s family is quite large as there were family from all across the United States. The open dance floor rocked as spinning the tunes was our very own Kamal of Dhol Toronto. It’s been a year since their event but I wish a happy anniversary to Omar and Sadia! Congratulations! Wedding videography can trace its roots back to before the advent of the modern video camera through 8mm and 16mm films. When film was the only way to capture moving pictures, a few enterprising individuals would take the family 8mm camera and film the weddings of friends and family. These film cameras had a major limitation in the form of 4-minute load times. After exposing 4 minutes of film the operator would have to load a new film cartridge. The high cost of processing and the fact the majority of them could not record sound to the film further limited the industry. But there were a few individuals who had turned the documentation of weddings into a business.
